2020, the year of disruption, marks ORing's 15th anniversary. While global industries have suffered unprecedented setbacks from COVID-19, ORing has managed to maintain stable business performance in the first half of 2020, thanks to its hardworking employees and supporting partners.
Looking back over the past 14 years, despite many ups and downs, ORing has achieved many significant milestones, especially in the fast-growing IIoT market. After forming partnerships with two major players in the IIoT field, Cirrus Link and Inductive Automation, ORing joined Eclipse Foundation's Sparkplug Working Group to work with the foundation in the journey towards a more connected world. In response to growing demand for remote working due to Covid-19, ORing has launched a work-from-home solution consisting of MagiCollect, MagiConnect, and ConnectGateway to help enterprises support their employees working at home. Last year, ORing also formed strategic alliances with the Weidmüller Group, an international market leader in industrial connectivity and automation, which acquired a 17.5% stake in ORing.
"It's been a bumpy start to 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak which has disrupted the global supply chain entirely and hit the global economy hard," said Angus Shih, ORing Founder and CEO. "Amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus crisis, ORing has taken several preventive measures to protect our employees from the risk of infection such as temperature checks, deep cleaning in our offices, cancelling nonessential international business trips and group events and meetings, and developing work-from-home contingency plans. We have also tried to minimize the impact on our customers. For example, we have enhanced our online support while keeping in touch with our customers via digital services such as webinars and videos."
While new challenges and difficulties lie ahead as the Covid-19 epidemic shows no signs of slowing, ORing will continue to develop new products and solutions to help customers through this challenging time.
