To fulfil its long-term commitment, which is constantly enhancing product quality and functionality to provide customers with the top-notch solutions in the industry, ORing today announced several product improvements including new certifications and more advanced functions.
UL61010-1 & UL61010-2-201 Certifications
High performance and rugged design is the basic requirements for networking devices used in industrial settings and compliance with international quality and safety certifications is essential for such devices. ORing is pleased to announce that several product lines have passed UL61010-1 & UL61010-2-201, the standards for safety requirements for electrical equipment, also the primary safety standards used for certification for programmable controllers and industrial devices in the US. Most of the popular Ethernet switches are now UL61010-1 & UL61010-2-201 certificated. ORing’s M2M gateway IMG-4312D+-D4G and device server IDS-312L have also passed these certifications.
PTCRB Certification
ORing’s wireless networking products have made progress in quality enhancement. The IMG-4312D+-D4G M2M gateway has been awarded PTCRB certification, a certification that verifies compliance with US standards for wireless cellular devices. In addition to the certification, the M2M gateway has also been authenticated by AT&T and Verizon; therefore, customers can rest assured that the M2M gateway can operate on the two major US telecoms’ mobile networks.
PROFINET Support and Certification
ORing is developing a new series of industrial Ethernet switches known as the IGS/IGPS-9000-PN which will support PROFINET, a standard for industrial networking in automation. Consisting of three conformance classes including class A, B, and C, the standard allows data to be exchanged quickly and deterministically between controllers and devices. Currently, some models in this series have been awarded Profinet CC-B certification, meaning they can work reliably in PROFINET networks and support SNMP so users can use standard SNMP tools to read out topology information, network statistics, and other related network details.
More Functions Delivered by New Firmware
ORing will provide a new version of firmware for several product lines in early 2023 to enhance product functionality. The P9000 Series of industrial Ethernet switches designed for power substations will support IEC 61850 QoS for GOOSE & SV, MMS Server, and HSR/PRP redundancy protocols (for the RGS-PR9000 model). Critical data sent using these protocols will be transmitted with the highest priority to make sure the data is not corrupted. Standard models in the 9000 Series of industrial Ethernet switches will support G.8032 ERPS and MRP redundancy protocols; the former prevents loops on ring networks while the latter allows rings of Ethernet switches to overcome any single failure. These protocols provide fast convergence in a ring network topology for industrial networks, thereby increasing system availability. Unmanaged industrial Ethernet switches IES-C1050/C1080 will also be equipped with QoS and broadcast storm protection to enhance network performance and reduce damage to the network caused by a virus attack.
For AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) products, the IMG-4312D+-D4G industrial M2M gateway will support dual image redundancy to improve availability. The firmware will enable self-recovery when failure occurs to prevent system downtime. You can also add virtual IP addresses to the Ethernet interface to extend IP addresses using NAT. New firmware also improves the flexibility of ORing’s industrial gateways IMG-4312D+-D4G and IMG-311DL-4GS as well as device server IDS-312L as more flexible Modbus pin settings enable the devices to be connected to different terminals to meet different project needs. In addition, the new Modbus ID mapping function which uses Modbus ID to route Modbus’ request commands from a master node to a slave node provides more freedom and higher availability when forwarding data from the master to the slave.
Quality is part of ORing’s DNA and these quality certifications demonstrate ORing’s commitment to the needs of all stakeholders through quality assurance and continuous improvement in the areas of safety and performance. ORing will strive to provide more trusted products and have all of its products comply with international standards to fulfill customers’ needs.
