A tunnel monitoring project in China required a reliable network to connect lighting, ventilation, traffic information displays, and video surveillance. Designed to withstand harsh tunnel conditions, the network needed to deliver real-time operational data and high-resolution video to a central monitoring center, helping operators manage traffic and maintain tunnel safety.

Solution
ORing provided an integrated network linking tunnel control systems and surveillance equipment. Lighting and ventilation devices connected to a PLC for centralized control, while the IDS-312L device server enabled Ethernet-based remote management of traffic information displays.
The IES-3062FX industrial Ethernet switch connected the PLC to the fiber backbone, carrying operational data to the control center. Meanwhile, IES-3162GC switches aggregated video streams from tunnel IP cameras and transmitted them over fiber links.At the network core, the RGS-9168GCP brought operational data and video together for centralized monitoring, giving operators timely visibility into tunnel conditions.
