A bus networking project in Taiwan needed dependable wireless connectivity for passengers and support for onboard video surveillance. The solution had to provide secure mobile communication while keeping installation simple within the vehicle’s limited cabling space.
Solution
ORing’s IAR-142+-4G industrial cellular VPN router provided passengers with onboard Wi-Fi through a cellular connection. Supporting IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n and WEP, WPA, and WPA2 security options, it enabled wireless access with authentication and encryption to help prevent unauthorized connections.
The IGPS-1080-24V industrial PoE switch connected the onboard IP camera and powered the router through its PoE-enabled Ethernet port. Combining data connectivity and power delivery reduced cabling and simplified installation in the bus’s limited space, supporting stable operation of both passenger Wi-Fi and video surveillance.
