Solution
A total of 100 IES-P3073GC industrial Ethernet switches were installed in the car parks to connect sensors, cameras, ticket dispensers, entrance barriers, and other devices. The IES-P3073GC switches are connected to the devices on the edge network through the Fast Ethernet ports and then connected to the remote control center through the Gigabit combo ports. With Gigabit bandwidth, the large amount of video data from the IP surveillance can be transmitted to the back-end servers without delays. As the switch supports SFP interface, the company can enjoy more uplink flexibility, allowing copper or fiber uplinks, which is important as the control center is located miles away.
Boasting a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, the IES-P3073GC works perfectly in the harsh environments. Even in the hottest summer day, the network will maintain uninterrupted operation. Through the DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) function, the company can monitor real-time parameters of the fiber optic transceivers, like optical input/output power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage.
After installing the IES-P3073GC, Oman Airports can access car park data immediately to keep track of the area and respond to accidents or emergencies in real time. They can also analyze the data such as ticketing data to identify car park users' behavior and use the insights to improve parking services.
