The IGPS-9084GP-LA industrial Ethernet switch boasts higher security specifications and a compact size, making it a perfect choice for applications where product reliability is highly valued such as IP surveillance.
Many IP cameras are installed in towers and skyscapers which are more susceptible to lightning strikes. Lightning strikes can cause severe damage to devices in the surveillance system. The IGPS-9084GP-LA gives customers more peace of mind with 8K ESD and 4KV surge protection, higher than most competitive products on market. By suppressing lightning and other high-energy transient voltage surges, the switch can protect users’ networks from severe lightning attacks, ensuring the stability of the flow of operation. Since the IGPS-9084GP-LA is only half size of the IGPS-9084GP, its footprint is reduced significantly. The small form factor is particularly useful where installation space is limited or multiple devices need to be accommodated.
Due to the advancement in IP surveillance technology, data traffic is increasing at a huge rate. The IGPS-9084GP-LA can ensure smooth transmission of large amount of video data as it offers full Gigabit performance on all ports. Along with the eight copper ports, there are four SFP slots to accommodate fiber transceivers to allow for long-distance transmission. The SFP ports provide instant fiber connectivity for the switch, making it a cost-effective solution for extending network distances while providing a high level of flexibility when planning a network.
PoE has become an important feature in IP cameras due to security and cost concerns. With compliance with IEEE802.3at standards, each of the IGPS-9084GP-LA’s copper ports can provide 30 watts of power to the connected powered device via a standard twisted-pair cable. As the powered devices can be plugged to the switch to start running without installing additional power cables, installation and future expansion is simplified. The results are shorter installation time and lower installation and maintenance costs.
Thanks to the wide temperature range, the IGPS-9084GP series has been widely adopted in harsh industrial environments worldwide, especially in subtropical hot desert climate such as Las Vegas where temperature sometimes reaches 40°C.
