Samsung’s plant needed an IP surveillance network to monitor every production process and transmit video to the control room. Centralized video access would allow staff to observe production remotely and collect and analyze data, supporting more efficient production and management.
The network had to provide dependable coverage throughout the plant, power IP cameras, and withstand harsh industrial conditions. Redundancy and centralized network management were also essential to minimize disruptions and simplify equipment monitoring.
Solution
ORing deployed IPS-3082GC-AT managed industrial Ethernet switches at the access layer, each providing eight IEEE 802.3at PoE ports and two Gigabit combo ports. Each PoE port supplied up to 30 W to IP cameras, simplifying cabling and reducing the need for separate power connections. At the aggregation layer, IGS-3044GC switches provided four Gigabit RJ45 ports and four Gigabit SFP ports to connect access switches and other equipment to the control room. O-Ring redundancy supported recovery within 30 ms in networks of up to 250 nodes, helping minimize video transmission interruptions.
The integrated access and aggregation network provided the bandwidth and resilience needed for centralized surveillance. Industrial construction, DIN-rail mounting, and a −40°C to +75°C operating range supported deployment in demanding factory environments. Open-Vision software automatically mapped the network topology, monitored device status, and issued immediate fault alerts, helping staff identify problems and manage equipment efficiently. ORing’s network planning experience and five-year warranty further supported the project.
