Project Introduction

Location: Bulgaria

Project Name: Automation System of Refrigerator Factory in Bulgaria

Products Deployed: IES-150B

Project Requirement

  • Low power consumption
  • Secure, weatherproof wireless connectivity
  • Redundant power protection
  • Durability in harsh conditions
  • Resistance to temperature variations

A high-output refrigerator factory near Plovdiv, Bulgaria, needed effective energy management and timely access to operating data. Its energy management system monitored substation conditions, visualized information, and stored analysis data. The project required dependable industrial connectivity, including links to remote substations where cabling would be difficult and expensive.

Solution

ORing’s IES-150B unmanaged Ethernet switches formed the industrial network supporting the plant’s energy management system. They carried substation data for monitoring, visualization, and storage, providing dependable communication in demanding factory conditions and helping staff maintain visibility into energy use.

For remote substations, ORing deployed IAP-W512 long-range, weatherproof wireless access points. IEEE 802.11a connectivity extended the network without costly cable installation, while RADIUS authentication controlled network access. Together, the wired and wireless equipment connected distributed substations to the energy monitoring system.
