ORing Unveils MagiConnect to Facilitate Remote Working during Coronavirus
Amid the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, leading industrial Ethernet solution provider ORing announced that its MagiConnect will be provided to customers free of charge for the whole 2020 to help enterprise customers address their working-from-home demand. The M2M connections enabled by MagiConnect can realize always-on connectivity by providing access to devices anytime and anywhere, whether they are located in factories or public areas.
A cloud service designed to provide remote network access in a more efficient way
Based on the ORing-PaaS cloud platform and standard VPN connections, MagiConnect comes with a MagiConnect Portal and a ConnectClient. Technicians and programmers can connect to the cloud through secured VPN tunnels created by ConnectClient to perform troubleshooting or programming remotely, while administrators can connect to the cloud via the MagiConnect Portal for remote management and monitoring. With an intuitive dashboard and rich management features of MagiConnect, users can connect and keep track of all on-site equipment easily with just a few clicks, even when they are at home. The eMap function which visualizes the deployment of each device enables users to quickly identify the location of the device, making it extremely easy to monitor and troubleshoot devices in different sites.
Enables connections with remote devices via ConnectGateway
MagiConnect is complemented with the ConnectGateway. Ready for use out of the box, ConnectGateway allows connections to remote devices such as PLC and HMI devices via the intranet and 3G/4G networks. The ConnectGateway includes two open gateways IDS-4312D+ and IMG-4312D, the former for wired networks and the latter for wired and wireless connections. Both IDS-4312D+ and IMG-4312D are equipped with two SIM card slots to support two different ISPs for redundancy. The IDS-4312D+ which only provides an Ethernet port is intended for customers looking for a cost-effective M2M connection solution, while the IMG-4312D featuring a 4G LTE cellular modem target customers requiring both wired and wireless connections.
"Industries worldwide have been hit hard by the spread of the coronavirus, forcing companies to embrace remote working," said Angus Shih, Founder and CEO at ORing. "MagiConnect, ORing's new addition in the SaaS portfolio, is designed to support remote working to ensure uninterrupted business operations. Recognizing the severe deterioration in economic conditions caused by the coronavirus, ORing is eager to contribute in every way to help customers through this crisis. By making our SaaS solution free of charge for the whole 2020, ORing hopes this will relieve financial pressure on enterprises as the coronavirus pandemic rages on."
