A public address system project in Johannesburg, South Africa, needed dependable communication between PA devices to support crowd management and emergency announcements. Solution

ORing’s IGS-9084GP-LA managed Ethernet switch combined Gigabit connectivity with fiber ports to meet bandwidth and long-distance transmission requirements. Its slim, compact design accommodated installation needs, while O-Ring redundancy supported rapid recovery from network interruptions. The system’s dual-redundancy configuration helped maintain PA communications during emergencies.

With an operating range of −40°C to +75°C, the switch suited harsh environmental conditions. DC input enabled integration with the PA system’s power source, supporting dependable operation. Together, these features provided the networking foundation for announcements and crowd management across Johannesburg’s public spaces.
