Solution

A total of five ORing Outdoor AP Industrial wireless access points were installed at the base station and the four oil refineries so data can be transmitted via wireless networks. Designed for outdoor environment with IEEE 802.11 a/n compliance, the APs are equipped with an IP-67 grade enclosure which protects the devices from solid contaminants such as dust and sand and the ingress of water.

The AP at the base station is connected to the server which stores all collected data and the four APs at the oil refineries are connected to 1200 PLCs to acquire data from tank sensors. The APs are connected to each other and installed on a rotational support at 1 rev/hour. To achieve the best transmission performance and the widest wireless coverage, the Outdoor AP APs are integrated with two high gain 10 dbi omni-directional antennas.

The additional antennas ensure high transmission reliability and maximum efficiency. The Outdoor AP comes with an IP-67 grade enclosure and a wide operating temperature range to guarantee continuous operation in harsh outdoors environments.
